XLR8R is one of my favorite weekly video / audio podcasts. They cover great djs and bands that are taking over both NY and SF’s music.
This week they chose to cover Silent Barn, a great little music venue way out in Ridgewood. Silent Barn has been known to host of the famous Todd P promoted music events as well as play host to some pretty big bands such as Deerhunter, Dan Deacon, and thedeathset.
My 2 loves combined in on Current TV video. Bikes and bass heavy dubstep. Pretty cool, albeit grainy video of some Londoners doing some sprints with a dubstep soundtrack. Very nice.
British producer N-Type hosted this mini-documentary outlining the current state of the UK Dubstep seen. This came out in June of this year, but somehow it has escaped my grasp until now. Some of the heavy hitters interviewed in this include Skream, Hatcha, and Crazy D.
If you new to this whole dubstep genre, watch this video, it give a pretty quick but accurate overview of the progression of the music.
Get your ass off the couch this Thursday’s evening and venture yourself to Meeker ave and Leonard right under the BQE to see a whole bunch of crazy bike kids doing some insane tricks not thought possible with a track bicycle. There will be a bunch of prizes and people having a good time.
Don’t have a bike? Thats fine. Just take the L to Lorimer walk a black to the BQE make a right and walk a block till you see kids doing wheelies.
Remember how Daft Punk asked its fans to bring their video camera’s to the Keyspan Park Brooklyn concert. Will they just finished up editing all 250 camera’s into one giant camera mash up. Its pretty intense and might cause you a seizure but it its a great flashback to the event. It’s taken from the ‘Alive’ DVD, directed by Olivier Gondry & released at the end of November.
I’m not usually a huge fan for the FUN parties, but with MSTRKRFT playing who am I to judge. So if your not doing any of the other CMJ insanity head over to Studio B and show Canadian Electro some love!

They have got a few videos up on youtube, all are worth seeing, but Easy Love in my opinion is the best. Check it out.
Well it appears that D.A.N.C.E. has completely made it mainstream, making it to the late night talk shows. It’s great though! Get more people into good music and fun parties.
An event as great as this can only happy in in Williamsburg after a wicked night of drinking. Pretty good video, especially if its a slow day at work.
